The former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has made milestone records that are still unshattered to date. Playing for India for 24 years, the dynamic cricketer earned a lot of respect. Showing love and dedication towards cricket has benefited Tendulkar as the sport has not given him respect but fame and money as well.
After 10 years of his retirement, Sachin is still the wealthiest cricketer in the world with a net worth of $170 million. Alongside his affection for cricket, Tendulkar is a petrolhead as well due to his fondness for cars. Over the years, he has collected illustrious cars in his garage. From the first-generation Maruti car to lavish cars, he has added variety to his exquisite collection.
The Maruti Suzuki 800 used to rule the Indian streets back in the ’80s and ’90s. In the early 90s, its magic attracted the then-rising Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. It was the first-ever car that he bought with his money earned as a professional cricketer. After selling his first car a few years back, the legendary cricketer gave an interview in 2020, in which he claimed that he would want to reunite with his first car, the Maruti 800 again.
In the past, Sachin Tendulkar was roped in by Fiat as their brand ambassador. At the AutoExpo 2002, Tendulkar unveiled a signature version of the Palio S10. His autographed version of the car was called S10 (S as Sachin and 10 part of his surname) and was sold as a limited edition only.
Before adding BMW’s M range of cars to his collection, Sachin had a C36 AMG, which was owned by the cricketer only in the country. The elegant car was known for its 3.6-litre 6-cylinder engine that could produce 280 brake horsepower (bhp).
Sachin Tendulkar’s BMW car collection is extremely incredible as it consists of five expensive models from the German luxury vehicle company. Among all the BMW models, the i8 is the costliest one that ranges between 2.25 crore - 3.30 crore. The stylish BMW i8 has a 1.5-litre engine that generates 357 bhp and 570 Nm torque.
Tendulkar also owns the BMW 7-Series 760 Li which costs INR 1.93 crore. This amazing vehicle comes with a 6.0-litre V12 engine that emits 544 bhp and 750 torque Nm. Along with these two deluxe BMW cars, the former India opener has three more voguish BMW models- M6 Gran Coupe, X5M, and M5 30 Jahre.
In 2002, Sachin Tendulkar received a Ferrari 360 Modena from Fiat after shattering Don Bradman’s record of 29 centuries. The car was presented to him by the then-German racing driver Michale Schumacher on the behalf of Fiat. However, the car grabbed a lot of eyes when the Indian authorities asked Tendulkar to pay around 1.13 crore towards import duty. In 2011, he sold the Ferrari to Surat-based builder Jayesh B Shah for around 1.5 crores. In 2012, the car was used in the Sharman Joshi-starrer Bollywood movie Ferrari Ki Sawaari.
After selling the Ferrari in 2011, Sachin purchased a limited-edition Nissan GT-R Egoist. The Egoist is an advanced version of GT-R and was made only on a request from Tendulkar. Apart from the GT-R model, the Egoist is known for its custom Wald-body kit. In 2017, after using the big vehicle for six years, Tendulkar sold it to a famous car collector in Mumbai.
When it comes to sports, love for automobiles by Cricket stars and other athletes seems inseparable. In the same vein, the legendary Indian cricketer and the former Mumbai Indians’ skipper, Sachin Tendulkar, has yet again flaunted his love for cars. In his latest addition to his elite list of cars, the ‘Master Blaster’ has purchased a Lamborghini Urus S super SUV.
There are two variants of the super car available in the market viz- the Performance variant and the Urus S variant. Talking of the price segment, the Urus S costs four lakhs INR cheaper than it’s superior variant. The Lamborghini Urus S costs a whopping 4.18 crore. Interestingly enough, unlike the higher variant, the Urus S boasts an air suspension system, which enhances the driving experience of the owner in totality. What really means that the owner can adjust the height as per their convenience to enjoy the desired comfort while hitting the roads.
Furthermore, the lavish Lamborghini model comes with three off-road modes which tackles the difficulties faced while driving in the terrains. These modes are Neve (Snow), Terra (Mud), and Sabbia (Sand), respectively. Even though it may sound astonishing, Sachin Tendulkar becomes the owner of a Lamborghini car for the first time. In the past he has been the brand ambassador and owner of several top-notch BMW cars.
