Sachin Tendulkar has been active on social media of late and has also been giving his verdict on the movies released. Recently, he was effusive in praise for the India Hockey player Sandeep Singh after watching Soorma which was based on his real-life story. This time around he has got goosebumps after watching ‘Gold’ which has shown the way India won its first gold medal in Hockey after freedom in 1947.
The movie is also releasing on the perfect occasion of Independence Day which has the renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar in the lead role with Mouni Roy and Kunal Kapoor also assisting him with key roles. It is all about the memorable day August 12, 1948, when, exactly after 362 days of independence, the Indian men’s hockey team won an Olympic Gold at the packed Wembley Stadium in London.
Sachin lauds the movie
Sachin Tendulkar was invited for a special screening and it seems that there was a moment in the film when the national anthem is sung. The former cricketer was enthused after watching the movie and especially felt proud after the national anthem started and praised the movie makers for putting out such an excellent script. He took to Twitter to express himself about the same and felt pride about it as well.
“I always get goosebumps whenever our national anthem is played. I guess every sportsman feels the same intensity, a sense of great pride … the #FeelingOfGold Celebrating 70 years of free India’s first Gold with @akshaykumar & @FarOutAkhtar,” he wrote on his official handle.
Even the likes of Sania Mirza and PV Sindhu were also pumped up after watching witnessing the epic history and urged the fans to watch the movie which is hitting the theatres on Wednesday. The film has been directed by Reema Kagti and is likely to impress many for the efforts which the cast has put in.
