Commenting on the game, India Women batted first after having lost the toss. They lost Punam Raut for just 20 and skipper Mithali Raj perished after scoring identical 20 as well. It was Smriti Mandhana who held the innings together with a brilliant 135 that came off just 129 deliveries with 14 fours and a six to her name. She was well supported by the unbeaten fifties of Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy.
In response, no batter save Lizelle Lee could show intent in the Proteas camp. She top scored with 73 as South Africa Women crumbled for just 124 runs. Jhulan Goswami scalped her 200th ODI wicket when she dismissed Laura Wolvaardt in the fifth over of the match. She returned with figures of 1/29 in her 7 overs. Poonam Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with 4/24 to her name. The win has now given the Indian team an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 3-match series.
