Sachin Tendulkar is God but MS Dhoni is King of Cricket: Ehsan Khan
He had picked Dhoni's wicket in the Asia Cup.
Team India started their Asia Cup campaign with a nervy win over Hong Kong who scared to chase down 286 runs in Dubai. The likes of Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath put on a sensational opening wicket stand to leave the Men in Blue frustrated but inexperience got to them and eventually fell short. Though the Indian team later spent some time with their cricketers in their dressing room and one of their players, Ehsan Khan had a fanboy moment as he clicked a picture with his idol MS Dhoni.
Ehsan had bowled brilliantly and scalped a couple of wickets while conceding 65 runs. He nipped out the big wickets of Rohit Sharma and Dhoni which helped his team restrict the flamboyant Indian side to 285 runs. Meanwhile, Ehsan, who kissed the pitch after picking the latter’s wicket, has called Dhoni the King of Cricket while also terming Sachin Tendulkar God.
“If Sachin is God then Dhoni is the ‘King of cricket’. I have plans to write a book on my career and when I do, MS Dhoni will be the main chapter. I shall read it to my grandson because life is like a fairy-tale now,” he said while speaking to Indian Express in an interview.
Wanted to pick Sachin’s wicket
Ehsan Khan is also a huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar and he was upset that he couldn’t pick his wicket during his 15-match ODI career. However, the 33-year-old was also happy with the fact that he was able to send back for a duck during the ODI in Dubai.
“In my dreams, I would often think of dismissing Sachin Tendulkar or MS Dhoni. Sachin ko nahi kar paya, dukh hai. Dhoni ka wicket mila…Isliye jhuk key sajda kiya (Couldn’t take the wicket of Sachin but bagged the wicket of Dhoni. This is why I bent down and paid respect),” Ehsan added.
