The ongoing pandemic has led to India being under lockdown for more than a month now. With no cricketing action going on, even the Indian players are spending time with their family and are interacting with their fans and media houses on social media. It was Yusuf Pathan’s turn on Wednesday to go live on Instagram as he revealed some of the interesting anecdotes from his personal life and his cricketing career.
Over the years, he played with the legendary Indian cricketers and is one of the only few cricketers to be part of India’s T20 and 50-over World Cup wins in 2007 and 2011 respectively. He has also won the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy thrice while playing for the Rajasthan Royals (once) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (twice).
Coming back to his live session with CricTracker, Yusuf Pathan was asked several questions which he duly answered and then came an interesting round where he was asked to say the one-liners for certain cricketers. The first name which came his was of the former India and the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Talking about him the 37-year-old mentioned that one cannot explain about such a big player in just one line as there are lot of things to talk about him. Eventually, he termed the master blaster as the God of Cricket. “What can I say about him? There is a lot that I can say. About him now I will just say, ‘God of Cricket’,” Yusuf Pathan said.
Yusuf Pathan terms Warne and Yuvraj as rockstars
Everyone loves MS Dhoni’s captaincy style and his street smartness and Yusuf Pathan is no different in this aspect. When asked to say one word about the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman he said, “Clever.” Apart from picking Shane Warne as one of his favourite captains in the IPL, the Baroda cricketer called him the rockstar along with Yuvraj Singh.
Yusuf played under Gautam Gambhir for the most part of his IPL career and hilariously went on to call him ‘Gambhir’ when mentioning a one-liner (word) for him. Gambhir is a hindi word for serious even as he termed the Delhi cricketer as an emotional person as well.
