Indian have been superlative, to say the least, in the ongoing tour of Sri Lanka as they whitewashed both Tests and ODI series. Apart from the spell from Akila Dhananjaya in the second ODI, Indians have looked unharmed through the entirety of the tour.

The last time Indians kept a clean sheet in ODIs was against Sri Lanka again, back in 2014. The entire cricketing fraternity from India applauded the dominance of India in all formats and departments of the game. In the final ODI, Indian captain Virat Kohli and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were absolutely ruthless on the given day and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar played his part by lauding the efforts of the two Indian Internation through one of his tweets.

Here’s the Tweet

Virat Kohli brought up his 30th ODI ton in the 5th game of the series, following a ton in the previous game.. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who remained wicketless in the three games he played in the series, claimed his maiden 5-wicket haul in ODI cricket. As a result of these performances, India won the match by a margin of 6 wickets.

The series will also remain memorable for the greatest finisher ever produced by Indian cricket, MS Dhoni, who toppled one record after the other. With the stumping of Dhananjaya, MSD completed his century of Stumpings. He also has the most number of not-outs in ODI cricket, overhauling 72 not-outs by Shaun Pollock and Chaminda Vaas. Dhoni also has the most number of unbeaten innings in International Cricket including all three formats of the game.

Furthermore, he overhauled the tally of former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin in terms of runs scored in ODIs. MSD is now fourth highest run getter for India in the 50-over format and is only behind stalwarts such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.
