Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, in a recent interview, talked in detail about the time when his son Arjun Tendulkar, as a one and a half-year-old kid, wiped his hands on Amitabh Bachchan’s kurta after eating an orange. Tendulkar expressed his embarrassment he faced due to the act of his son.

The mutual admiration both Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan have for one another is a well-renowned phenomenon by now. The two are seen together in various high profile event and are supposed to be close family friends. As a result, the former Indian stalwart recalled an incident regarding the Shehenshah of Bollywood on his 75th birthday.

“It involved my son, Arjun. He was only a year-and-a-half old then. We were shooting a commercial and in between shots, Arjun was sitting on our laps. Arjun was having an orange and after finishing it, he coolly wiped his hands on Mr Bachchan’s kurta. I didn’t know where to look. I was so embarrassed,” told Sachin Tendulkar to Mid-Day.

On Big B performing with Lata Mangeshkar

The Little Master was also nostalgic about a certain performance which featured Big B and Lata Mangeshkar, with Rekha enjoying it sitting in the audience with him.

“Oh yes, that was years ago. Lataji was singing a song from ‘Silsila’ and Amitji appeared on the stage to recite his dialogues. That was the only time I saw them perform together. When I was very young, I watched his movies just for the sake of watching them,” added the pride of Mumbai.

“At that stage, what perhaps drew me was the action part. At different stages of life, you admire the same thing for different reasons. As you grow older, you realise how difficult it must have been for Amitji to enact those roles. Later on, of course, I saw him doing everything — be it emotional, aggressive, tragic or romantic [roles],” concluded Sachin.
