Sachin Tendulkar replies to Vinod Kambli's Friendship Day message

Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli’s friendship dates way back when both were not even in their teens and just budding cricketers playing on the Maidans of Mumbai. The pair had stitched a record-breaking 664-run partnership during a school tournament. Since then, they went on to play many memorable innings together and have shared a plethora of funny episodes that are still remembered by their colleagues. And on the occasion of Friendship day, in a Twitter exchange, the duo proved it once again.

Kambli wished his old friend Sachin on the micro-blogging site by sharing a picture of them. Kambli wrote, “On field you are the greatest that the game could produce, off the field, you are Jay and me, Veeru… On this friendship day all I want to say is.. @sachin_rt “Ye dosti hum nahi todenge.. Todenge dam magar tera saath na chodenge.. #HappyFriendshipDay #FriendshipDay2018.”

The master blaster saw the message yesterday and his reply was extremely heartwarming. Sachin replied back on Monday evening, “That was an epic movie, @vinodkambli349, and ours is a unique friendship. Thanks for thinking of me, my friend!”

The Sachin-Kambli friendship

Previously, Kambli had revealed that he took up to coaching on the advice of his mate Sachin Tendulkar. Both the former Indian cricketers were coached by the famed coach Ramakant Achrekara and Kambli credited Tendulkar for bringing him back on the cricket field, not as a player but as a coach.

Their bond transcends from being just between the two of them as Vinod Kambli recently lauded Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar after he got his first wicket in international cricket in Sri Lanka.

He had written, “Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment,”
