Recently, the Master Blaster of Indian cricket Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 45th birthday on 24th April, as wishes and congratulatory messages poured in from all around the globe on an auspicious day, Tendulkar mentioned about his favorite gift that one could get on his day. Ever since his retirement, Sachin has found himself getting indulged in many initiatives that he has managed to launch for the betterment of the society.

The cricketing Legend has been one of the firsts to raise his hand to contribute in whatever possible way he can for a good cause in the society. After being conferred with the title of  ‘God of Indian Cricket‘, Sachin has shown his eagerness to make a difference in the lives of many underprivileged ones with his utmost dedication towards the social well being.

CBSE gives him the best gift

Among all the wishes and the presents, he felt that the decision from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), to make the course of health and Physical education a mandate for classes IX to XII, was the best gift that he could ever get on his birthday. He has been a firm believer in the priority that one needs to give it to his health in life and the immense role that Sports plays in the development of an individual.

The Master took it to Twitter to share his happiness after the decision taken up by the central board. The tweet read, “One of the best b’day gifts I got this year – the news that #CBSE schools will include a mandatory health & physical education programme for class IX to XII students. Thanks to the Board for standing up for sports, health & a brighter future for India’s children.”

Here’s the tweet :

It has been a conscious effort from his side to make the people understand the necessity of health and physical fitness in an individual’s life. It was a definite sigh of relief on seeing his efforts getting valued response from the education board’s side.

According to the new guidelines aimed at mainstreaming health and physical education, it will be mandatory for schools to have a “sports” period daily during which students will have to go the playground but will be free to perform any physical activity listed in the manual and will be graded on the same.
