Sachin Tendulkar reveals who started the popular ‘Sachin-Sachin’ chant

Whenever the little fellow, often referred to as ‘God of Cricket’, walked into the field holding his bat with the MRF branding, thousands of voice chanted in unison ‘Sachiiiiiiin……..Sachiiiiiiin’. While it is a well-known tradition all across the globe, very few knew who was the mastermind behind the heart-warming chant.

In the song release event of the movie ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’, which is based on his life, the master-blaster has revealed who actually started the chant. Recalling sweet old memories, he said “My mother started it actually. I used to go play downstairs and to call me back home, mother would call ‘Sachin Sachin’.

He also revealed that little did he thought that the chant started by his own beloved mother will be gladly accepted by the fans. He said “I never thought ‘Sachin Sachin’ (chant) would continue beyond my playing days. It has now gone to the theatres. So I feel happy.”

There is an iconic picture of a cute little boy, the master himself, holding the bat in his hand. The picture is well circulated over the web platforms. When asked about to say a thing or two about the picture that was a predicament of what was to come from the God of Cricket in the future, he said “This was actually taken at home when I was playing with my brother. This was in the balcony. I was only four or five then. My positions weren’t perfect. What I enjoyed was, hitting the ball. Be it a cricket bat or a tennis racket. My brother would chuck tennis ball, few I used to hit from cricket bat, few from rackets.”

That sweet little boy from the picture grew up to be the owner of hundred hundreds, and he grew up to play two-hundred Test matches. While fans do not have the luxury to watch him bat now, they can surely get inspired by watching the film based on his life. He has broken many records of the legends of the game in the 22 yards, and it is now time for him to break records in the theatres. Fans are waiting eagerly to know more unknown facts about his life through the film.
