Sachin Tendulkar, Team India celebrate 85th Indian Air Force Day
Sachin Tendulkar is a honorary group captain in the Indian Air Force.
Today, on 8th October India celebrates the Air Force Day. Their prime responsibility is to secure the Indian air space and if the situation demands, they carry out aerial operations. The 85th Air Force Day witnessed various events. The IAF displayed its vintage and fighter aircrafts. The occasion is celebrated as a mark of respect as well as awareness for all the citizen of the country.
The Indian cricketers were not too far behind when it comes to showing their respect to the special force. Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma tweeted on the important occasion. Tendulkar is also the honorary Group Captain in the Indian Air Force.
Sachin Tendulkar’s special tribute to the IAF
Tendulkar said in a video “On the occassion of 85th Indian Airforce Anniversary, I extend my warm greetings to all the Airforce personnel and their families. We truly appreciate your innumerable sacrifices which have served to protect us during war and peaceful times. And not to forget the disaster relief.”
“Salute to our Air warriors. May you touch the sky with glory. Jai hind,” he added. Rohit, who is currently participating in the ongoing T20I series against Australia tweeted “To find us, you must be good…to catch us, you must be fast but to beat us, you must be kidding’ said one of the Indian Air Force personnel. It only shows how stronger and powerful this nation has become. Salute”
India takes the lead
India won the 1st T20I by 9 wickets. Rain halted Australia’s innings, after they were reduced to 118/8 in 18.4 overs. India were set a revised target of 48 in 6 overs, and the likes of Skipper Virat Kohli and the openers- Shikhar Dhawan and Sharma didn’t waste much time and got their side home with three balls to spare.
