Legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has expressed his desire to see the Virat Kohli-led Indian team totally run rout the Australian side in the ongoing ODI series. Team India registered a clinical win in the third ODI at Indore recently to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series. The men in blue are scheduled to play the fourth ODI at Bengaluru on September 28.
While the Indian side has nothing to lose and hence have the privilege of going all guns blazing, the visiting Australian side will have their pride to play for. More importantly, they would hope to avoid the embarrassment of the whitewash at the hands of the strong in-form Indian side. Going by the history books, team India have never whitewashed Australia in a bilateral ODI series before.
They had attained a whitewash win against Aussies in the T20I series earlier this year. Currently, the form of the Indian side is red hot. They have won 9 matches on a trot and have equalled their own unbeaten spree of 9 matches that was set under the captaincy of MS Dhoni back in 2008-09.
Soon after the conclusion of the third ODI, Sachin Tendulkar took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his happiness over the win. He mentioned that it is indeed a big achievement to remain unbeaten in 9 matches in a row. He further wished to make the winning spree to 11 matches. His wish is to see team India whitewash the Australian side. In his terminology, it would be a bluewash of sorts for the men in blue.
Here is the tweet posted by Sachin Tendulkar:
“A win made to look rather easy by the #MenInBlue! Great achievement to remain unbeaten in 9 games! Let’s make it 11 & #bluewash the series,” tweeted Sachin Tendulkar after India’s win in the Indore ODI.
