He loved to bat against bowlers who challenged him and Shoaib Akhtar definitely had the pace to make life tough for the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. But more often than not it was the greatest Indian batsman who had the last laugh in the competition with the Rawalpindi express. We all have the images of Shoaib banging in bouncers and Sachin smashing him for sixes etched in our memories. But that is now a part of history and both are now retired cricketers.
While Sachin hasn’t really been associated with cricket has done his best to promote other sports in the country as well. At the moment he is rooting for the Indian Olympic contingent being the goodwill ambassador for the country in Rio. He has time and again sent across his wishes, encouraged and inspired various cricketers and athletes to do well for the country.
Sachin was always known to be a tough one to get under the skin of as he never let the heat of the moment take the better of his mental balance. And thus maintained a superb relationship with most players from across the world even if they were up against each other on the 22 yards. So today on the occasion of Shoaib Akhtar’s 41st birthday the master blaster took his opportunity to wish him the best.
He Tweeted – ‘Not the ‘fastest’ to wish you on your birthday @shoaib100mph, but hope you have a splendid one, Rawalpindi Express :)#HappyBirthdayShoaib’. We all know Sachin has a list of commitments each day and thus was not the first to wish Shoaib and he acknowledged it in his post as well.

When there is a special person wishing you, you are not just delighted but also give then an instant reply and so did the Rawalpindi express. Within minutes of Sachin’s Tweet, Shoaib replied – @sachin_rt thank you so much little master …
