Sachin Tendulkar's praise makes Jasprit Bumrah speechless
This IPL season, the Mumbai Indians pacer picked up 19 wickets in 16 matches with 6.63 Economy.
Mumbai Indians pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah starred against Chennai Super Kings in the final of this year’s Indian Premier League. In a game where most of the batsmen of both sides failed to deliver, it was Bumrah’s over spell that made the big difference as Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 1 run to lift the title. The win also made Mumbai Indians the first team in the history of IPL to lift the title four times.
Bumrah bowled one of the best spells in the history of the tournament. In a low-scoring thriller where a single bit shot would have made a big difference in the end, Bumrah did not concede a single boundary off his 24 balls. In fact, 13 deliveries of his spell were dots as he underlined his reputation as one of the best death bowlers in the world. Overall, he bowled a clinical four-over giving away just 14 runs and picked up two crucial wickets as Mumbai successfully defended a modest 149.
After the match, Mumbai Indians batsman Yuvraj Singh and mentor Sachin Tendulkar were involved in a candid interview. During the talk, Tendulkar said that Bumrah is the best bowler in the world. Yuvraj was also quick to agree to Tendulkar’s comment.
“Let me go on record and say that he (Jasprit Bumrah) is the best bowler in the world at this stage and the best is yet to come hopefully,” said Tendulkar. The video of the interview was posted on Twitter by IPL’s official handle and Bumrah came across it a day later.
Jasprit Bumrah’s reply:
Unsurprisingly, Bumrah was blown away by the comment and his reply to Tendulkar’s comment said it all. Bumrah tweeted his reaction on the video and wrote, “I am Speechless thank you sachin sir.”

Bumrah, meanwhile, was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant effort with the ball. Speaking at the end of the game, the right-hander said he was not panicking at all.
“In the final, we know that it can get close and winning the title with MI is a special feeling. Today, surprisingly, I was very calm, I wasn’t panicking at all and very happy to contribute to the team’s success. I only take one ball and one day at a time and if you think like that you don’t feel pressure at all,” said Bumrah.
Bumrah will now be looking to replicate his good performance for India in the upcoming World Cup.
