'Sad to see you go so early' - Cricketing fraternity pays tribute to Irrfan Khan after his demise
Angrezi Medium turned out to be Irrfan Khan's last movie.
April 29 didn’t start on a good note in India as the Bollywood’s most versatile actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday and was under observation for colon infection. Irrfan’s mother Saeeda Begum also passed away only recently. The news of the actor passing away was shared by the film director and one of Irrfan’s close friends Shoojit Sircar.
Irrfan Khan did a lot of memorable movies during his career and literally thrilled many just with his versatile acting. He was a man of few words and an actor of silent expressions. Irrfan played a major role in the Oscar winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and his last movie turned out to be recently released Angrezi Medium.
Unfortunately, the film suffered due to the ongoing pandemic as the theatres were closed just after its release amid lockdown throughout the country. But Irrfan Khan’s work even in his last movie was praised by many.
“My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute,” Shoojit Sircar’s tweet read as he broke out the sad news in public.
Cricketing fraternity pays tribute to Irrfan Khan
As soon as the news broke out, social media was filled with condolences for Irrfan Khan’s family. Even the cricketing fraternity did the same as they hailed the actor for his work in the industry. India cricketer Suresh Raina termed him as an actor with immense talent and high calibre and paid heartfelt condolences to his family.
“Extremely saddened to hear about the demise of #IrfanKhan. He was truly an actor with immense talent & high caliber. He will be missed badly. My heartfelt condolences to the family. #ripirfankhan. Ramesh Powar, Sandeep Sharma, Mohammad Kaif, Ravi Ashwin and Hemang Badani were among the many others from the Indian cricketing fraternity who expressed their sadness over Irrfan Khan’s demise.
