Salman Butt declares himself match-ready for all formats
He led his team Lahore Whites to the final of the National T20 Cup recently.
Veteran Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt is striving hard to make a comeback to the national side yet again. The out-of-favor southpaw has been ignored by the national selectors ever since he has become eligible to play for the national side again. Salman has been performing decently well in the domestic circuit and is keen on donning the green jersey yet again.
As per the recent reports in brecorder.com, Salman Butt quoted to the local media that he is ready to play in whichever format he is picked to play for the national side. He mentioned that there is not choice as such. Hence, whether the format is the shorter one or the longer one, it does not really concern him much. Moreover, he does not mind playing against any team either.
Clearly, the agenda is direct for the discarded former skipper. He has no preferences when it comes to making a comeback and all he wishes to do is take the field again. He noted that he is training accordingly to be fit for the time when he is called for the national side.
“I am not concerned for which format I will be selected or for which opposition, I have no such choice. I have to be ready for any time, any condition or opposition, so I am training accordingly as well,” quoted Salman Butt.
Leading from the front in the domestic season
Meanwhile, he has had a phenomenal domestic season in the current scenario. He led his team Lahore Whites to the final of the National T20 Cup recently. He failed to lose the match but managed to win the praises because of his captaincy and batting might in the prowess. During the competition, he even stitched a masterful partnership of 209 for the opening wicket. It was a record breaking partnership.
