The first hat-trick in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League came from Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Samuel Badree at Bangalore’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

RCB put up a total of 143 on the board. But Badree, playing his first game of IPL 10, took a hat-trick in the 3rd over of the innings itself. His three victims were Parthiv Patel, Mitchell McCleneghan and Rohit Sharma.
Virat Kohli, who played his first game of the season today, handed the new ball to the 32-year old who was also playing his first game of 2017. After bowling 2 overs, his bowling figures read as 2-1-4-3. After his 4 overs, his numbers were 4/9, with dismissing Nitish Rana’s off the last ball of his spell. The hat-trick ball which sent off Rohit Sharma was a googly!

RCB acquired the bowler’s services in the 2016 auctions. He rose to fame with his contributions in the West Indies team winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2016 and was subsequently retained by the Virat Kohli-captained side.

A total of 15 hat-tricks have been registered in the league’s 10 years history. Here’s the complete list.
