The spread of the novel coronavirus has put a temporary halt to the cricketing tournaments and series for the past four months. This has also provided cricketers with ample amount of time to spend with their families. Many sportsmen are utilising this time in interacting with their fans or conducting live sessions with fellow mates on social media. The latest addition to this list is Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik.

The former Pakistan skipper has started hosting live sessions on Instagram with his teammates and other prominent personalities. Recently, the cricketer hosted his wife and India’s Tennis star Sania Mirza. Both Sania and Shoaib are living separately in Hyderabad and Pakistan respectively due to the travel restrictions. However, the live interaction provided them a chance to be with each other virtually.

The aodrable couple had a blast during the session as they talked on a variety of topics and also had fun at the expense of each other. The most entertaining part of the whole live session came when Shoaib Malik asked his better half to say ‘I love You’ in Punjabi as a punishment. However, the attempts made by Sania left the fans and her husband Shoaib in splits.

Sania hails from Hyderabad while her husband is a Punjabi. As a result, the Tennis star couldn’t ace the challenge despite the continuous help from the cricketer.

After several failed attempts, the 38-year-old stopped his wife from trying further. He jokingly said that he won’t be allowed in the Punjab region of Pakistan anymore due to such insult of the Punjabi language by his wife. Later he also told Sania the correct sentence which is “Mennu twaade naal mohabbat hai”.

Shoaib Malik also revealed that his wife was the first person who couldn’t even complete the punishment given by him. “Mera pehla aisa guest hai jisko maine punishment di aur wo usme bhi haar gaya,” said Shoaib.

On the professional front, both Sania and Shoaib are expected to resume their sports soon which was halted in the view of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Malik is set to join his team in England for the Pakistan tour of England. On the other hand, Sania can also return to play later this year with the US Open 2020 which would be held behind closed doors.
