British journalist, Piers Morgan was one of the most trending individuals on the Twitter a couple of days ago after he tweeted about India celebrating the two medals they won in the Rio Olympics and how that wasn’t the best idea.
Piers Morgan was on the receiving end of the brunt of critics and soon former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag joined the conversation in support of the Indian fans and the plot thickened.
One of Morgan’s tweets read: “If India can produce a batsman as brilliant as @sachin_rt then it can produce Gold medal-winning Olympians. Needs investment & focus.”
While another one read: “Dear Indian Twitter, @sachin_rt only follows 77 people & I am one of them. Do the maths. #Winners”.

Virender Sehwag had an epic reply to both the tweets saying, “We cherish every small happiness’, But Eng who invented Cricket,&yet2win a WC,still continue to play WC. Embarrassing?”

There were a lot of tweets from the Indian twitter users as they launched an attack on Morgan. However, former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar backed him and tweeted: “Instead of lashing back at those who take a dig at our Olympic performance, introspection is a better response. Improvement is then possible,”

Manjrekar told the fans that introspection is a better response than lashing out at anyone who had a go at India’s performance at the Rio Olympics, where the 118-member contingent returned with just 2 medals. His advice didn’t go down well with the trollers who had by then shot an array of posts against Morgan trying to put him down. Sanjay fell in their range of fire as well and here is the response he got for his tweet.

@sanjaymanjrekar we all know what the problem is, we don't need another jibe to be told what the issue is.

@sanjaymanjrekar we won the cricket WC after 50 plus years after we started playing! How can you expect to win without putting in time?
