Sanjay Manjrekar trolled after Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja slam unbeaten half-centuries in Canberra ODI
Hardik and Jadeja slammed half-centuries in Canberra ODI to propel India to 302.
Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is known for his bold comments on air. 2019 was probably the most controversial year behind the mic for him thanks to his ‘bits and pieces’ comment on Ravindra Jadeja during the World Cup in England. He was also involved in the tussle with Harsha Bhogle during the commentary for India’s maiden Pink ball Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata.
He was also dropped from the commentary panel for the Indian Premier League (IPL) by the BCCI. However, Sanjay Manjrekar returned to the job for India’s ongoing tour of Australia. And with it, his bold comments also returned. He recently spoke on the all-rounders’ issue Team India is facing again with Hardik Pandya not bowling due to his back injury.
He also opined on Ravindra Jadeja stating that he doesn’t have any problem with him but have issues with his kind of players. With Hardik also not bowling, Sanjay Manjrekar recently said that he will not have the Baroda cricketer in the team as well.
Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja shine in Canberra ODI
Manjrekar stated these comments after the first two ODIs of the three-match series against Australia. However, come the third game both Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya shone with the bat bailing India not only out of trouble, but also helping the team post a total in excess of 300 on the board.
After opting to bat first, the Men in Blue lost wickets at regular intervals and at one stage, were reeling at 152/5 after 32 overs. This is when the all-rounder duo came together and slowly brought the team back in the game. They took toll of Australia’s relatively inexperienced bowling attack and slammed unbeaten half-centuries.
While Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 92 off 76 balls with seven fours and a six, Jadeja scored 66 off just 50 balls with five fours and three massive maximums. Soon after their stunning performance, Sanjay Manjrekar was soon trending on social media and was trolled hilariously for his comments before the third ODI. Moreover, the left-arm spinner Jadeja also picked up a crucial wicket of Aaron Finch with the ball.
