Hasan Ali has been around the Pakistan international cricket circuit for almost four years now. He made his international debut back in August 2016 in Dublin in an ODI against Ireland. Since then he’s played nine Test matches, 53 ODIs and 30 T20I games picking up 148 wickets across the three formats.

However, he’s been out of favour since the 2019 World Cup. He picked up two wickets in four games and was very expensive in the mega tournament in England before he was dropped. Since then, he played one first-class game before he suffered a back injury that ruled him out for almost two months. However, after recovering from the back injury, he suffered a rib fracture which kept him out until the start of the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Ali is back in the park and has taken the field in both the Peshawar Zalmi games. In the first game which was against the Karachi Kings, the 25-year-old fast bowler picked up two wickets but also conceded 52 runs in his four-over spell as Zalmi crashed to a 10-run defeat as they fell short in their chase of 202. Ali did come back decently in the second game as he bowled an economical spell of 0/22 (from four overs) in Zalmi’s win over Quetta Gladiators.

Hasan Ali finds a new fan

However, he found a fan in Sarfaraz Ahmed’s son. After the game against Quetta Gladiators, Urooj Mumtaz Khan who is a former Pakistan women’s cricketer and current commentator in the PSL took to Twitter and shared a video of Abdullah Sarfaraz, the son of former Pakistan skipper. The kid who was at the ground for the game was seen imitating his uncle’s trademark celebration.

Ali had made his celebration of showing a bomb bursting famous during the 2017 Champions Trophy. He had picked up 13 wickets from five games and finished as the leading wicket-taker. He also won the player of the tournament award as Pakistan went on to lift the ICC Champions Trophy title for the first time.

Urooj Mumtaz Khan tweeted the video and said future star in the caption with the kid copying Hasan Ali.
