Sarfraz Ahmed's brother Abdur Rehman backs Pakistan to win the Asia Cup
India won the first encounter between the two sides easily.
Pakistan have been touted to be the favourites of the ongoing Asia Cup ever since the tournament has begun. Their strong bowling attack and the recent record in the limited-overs format is the reason for the same. The team is led by Sarfraz Ahmed who has done extremely well in gelling the side together so far and will be hoping that his troops respond to him in the Asia Cup as well. Meanwhile, his brother Abdur Rehman has also backed his brother and the team to win the title.
Pakistan entered the tournament with an exceptional performance in Zimbabwe. They won the T20I tri-series and then went on to whitewash the home side in the five-match ODI series. The likes of Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq plundered runs and even the bowlers in amazing touch. The team’s confidence was also high coming into the tournament and despite a loss to India, they still remain the favourites to lift the trophy.
I hope they beat India
Abdur Rehman, in an interview to ARY News, hoped that Pakistan team, under the leadership of his brother, manages to beat the arch-rivals India and then go on to win the Asia Cup. He was also proud of his brother and was of the opinion that he will be even happier if Sarfraz plays well in this tournament.
“I hope once again that Pakistan team will beat India in the Asia Cup by the grace of God. We are always with the team and hope that they win the Asia Cup also. We always feel that everyone in the team should play well and perform. Whoever performs, Pakistan should win in the end,” he said.
As far as the first tussle between the arch-rivals is concerned, Pakistan didn’t play well and they lost the game badly. But they will be facing India again on Sunday and their fans would be hoping that the team does well.
