SC Committee finds Jagmohan Dalmiya’s speech ‘incoherent and incomprehensible’, wonders who runs the BCCI: Jagmohan Dalmiya was appointed as the President of the BCCI three months back and of late there arose a dilemma regarding his stature in the Presidential post, owing to his old age.

Justic Lodha Committee which interviewed Dalmiya found the BCCI President ‘incoherent and incomprehensible’ at the moment. According to a report on renowned media source, Justice Lodha Committee met the 75-year old BCCI President at Kolkata yesterday as a part of the ongoing processes to clean the game of Cricket after getting stained through betting and spot-fixing scams.

To the surprise of the committee and its members, Dalmiya reportedly requested to have the company of his son Abhishek ahead of the meeting, stating ‘illness related problems’ as the reason behind his demand.

Also, there were further mentions in the report that it failed to serve its intended purpose and it mentioned, “The BCCI president was finding it difficult to comprehend the questions put to him. The questions were relayed by Abhishek to his father. Dalmiya’s speech was incoherent and incomprehensible. His son used to translate the ‘incoherent and incomprehensible’ speech to the committee members.”

Certainly, such a person with deteriorating health and agedness related concerns is not much capable to govern the World’s richest cricketing body. The report said, “If this is the physical and mental condition of the BCCI president at present, did those who elected him three months back not know about this? If the physical and mental status of the president has deteriorated so much in recent times, then who is running the affairs of the richest cricket body.”

Dalmiya was elected as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on March 2 and he was elected unopposed. This was done to restore the chastity in the stained image of the respective sport, as a whole, in the country.

Earlier on January 22, the apex court had installed a three-member committee comprising of the retired judges, Ashok Bhan and RV Raveendran to investigate upon the punishment for ex-BCCI President, N Srinivasan’s son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings official, Gurunath Meiyappan alongside the co-owner of Rajasthan Royals, Raj Kundra.

As a matter of fact, both of them were found involved in fixing scandals in IPL, 2013 which shook the cricketing world.
