Schedule for India's tour of West Indies announced

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced the schedule for the Test series against India, which will begin from 21st July.

The first Test will be played at Antigua from 21st to 25th of July followed with the second Test at Jamaica, commencing from July 30. The action then shifts to St. Lucia for the third Test, which will begin from August 9. The fourth and final Test will be played at Trinidad from August 18.

West Indies will be coming into the series after hosting the tri-series, featuring Australia and South Africa, whereas this will be India’s first Test assignment of the year. Though the ODI team is flying to Zimbabwe, the Test squad has only one player KL Rahul in common.

The home team, West Indies is yet to announce their squad for the Test series against India, whereas India had announced the 17-man squad for the series led by Virat Kohli. Uncapped Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur will also fly with the team to the Caribbean Islands. Ajinkya Rahane has been promoted as the vice-captain of the side. Rahane was quoted saying that the added responsibility will make him perform better as a cricketer.

India under Kohli have won their last two Test series, beating Sri Lanka 2-0 at their home after more than two decades and followed it up with a series win against South Africa at home.
