In the era of modern cricket, fitness has become the prime area of focus as fielding and running between the wickets play a huge role in matches these days. Indian skipper Virat Kohli also insists fitness as a major area to get selected in the squad. Recently Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina were not included in the squad as they reportedly failed to match the fitness standards.
Kohli himself maintains peak levels of fitness to set an example and now the BCCI has revealed what goes on behind the scenes to ensure that the skipper perseveres his well-sculpt body. The 28-year-old has often said that the reason behind his consistent performance with the is his work ethics off the field and how he takes his fitness regime very seriously. Along with fitness trainer Shankar Basu, Kohli has ensured that he has taken his game to a new level.

The tweet included the link of the video on BCCI’s official website. It can be seen in the video that the Indian skipper is training hard according to the suggestions and the sequence given by trainer Basu. Virat himself leads by example as far as fitness is concerned and it surely must be encouraging other members of the team.
He is currently in Sri Lanka leading the side in the ongoing ODI series against the home side. India is leading the series 1-0 after whitewashing the Islanders in a 3-match Test series. India is scheduled to return from Sri Lanka after September 5 post which they will play limited-overs series against Australia at home.
