Chris Gayle is undoubtedly one of the hardest hitters in world cricket. Gayle is no short of fans and fun as he always stays in the limelight and he had made quite a few outrageous statements in his autobiography released a few months ago.

Teammates, rivals, administrators, matches, and almost anything and everything that came through his career got a mention in the biography and here is some of his famous statements in the book.

Gayle, who has a triple century in Test cricket against his name, said about the known and unknown facts about him. “I’m a man who can grind out a Test triple century and then do it again, a man who on a different day can smash 100 runs off 30 balls. I have hit more T20 sixes than any other man in history; I have stood invincible on a ground for two days while every one of my team-mates fell. I’ve opened a strip bar in my own house; I have started a foundation for poor kids in my home city.”

The 36-year old said that he would like to term himself as a legend and called himself as a ‘pioneer’ of the game considering the achievements he had in his career thus far.

“The Tsar of T20, the boss of the boundary boards. I’ve been called a pioneer, and I’ll take that word, even though I’d put it another way: I’m a legend. Most people wouldn’t call themselves that, but I think I am great. Put it more simply: I am great. The things I’ve done, trus’ mi. Serious things I’ve done.”

What if Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a cricketer?:

He said that there are something only he can master at. Hitting former English pacer, Matthew Hoggard for six fours in an over, scoring 37 off a single over in the IPL and thrashing a century of 30 balls are some of those which he can only do.

“There are things only I can get away with. No one else would even try them.  Hitting Matthew Hoggard for six fours in an over. Hitting 37 off a single over in the IPL. A century off 30 balls, another one on one leg. If Zlatan Ibrahimovic were a cricketer, it’s the sort of thing he would be trying.”

‘World Boss’ or ‘Universe boss’?:

On a lighter note, he said that he feels that the ‘World Boss’ name is not enough for him as he feels he is almost the ‘Universe Boss’. “Sometimes I look at my ‘World Boss’ nickname, and I like it. Other time I look at it, and I look what I have achieved in the game, and I think, how about ‘Universe boss’?”
