Shreyas Iyer has made his bat talk in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Batting at number three, the dasher has scored 91 runs in three outings, guiding Delhi Capitals to two wins. Notably, Iyer had missed the first half of the competition due to a shoulder injury. Hence, he had the onus to make a stunning comeback and impress selectors ahead of the high-voltage T20 World Cup.

Iyer has certainly lived up to the expectations so far and would like to continue his impressive run. Meanwhile, fans got to see some glimpses of Iyer’s training in a recently-posted video on Delhi Capitals’ Twitter page. The clip apparently shows how the star batter goes about his business during a practice session.

Sound of the ball hitting the bat is orgasmic: Shreyas Iyer

The 26-year-old’s obsession with big-hitting is clearly evident as he called the sound of the ball hitting the bat ‘orgasmic.’ In the video, Iyer can also be seen challenging a bowler. “See that antenna on top of the academy? I’m going to hit you there,” the former Delhi Capitals captain said. The swashbuckler played several big hits in the practice session as bowlers seemed enduring a hard time.

After the competition of the session, Iyer said he was satisfied as he was challenging bowlers and winning. These are certainly great signs for DC with the tournament being in its business. Notably, DC have already qualified for the playoffs, winning eight of their first 11 games. However, they are now eyeing to finish among the top two and it will give them a cushion of losing a game in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, DC’s last outing saw them going down against Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Although the Rishabh Pant-led side doesn’t really need to worry about the loss, they would like to enter the playoffs on the back of some impressive performances. Their next assignment is against Mumbai Indians on October 2 in Sharjah.

Coming back to Shreyas Iyer, the right-handed batter has been picked a standby in India’s T20 World Cup. Hence, he would be required if any member from the original squad sustains an injury.
