Seven dead, one injured after cricket game turns violent in Pakistan
The incident happened in a village called Ghari Pulgran in Pakistan.
A conclusion of a cricket game between children in Pakistan resulted in seven deaths and one being severely injured. A sport which is known to engulf rivals together on the field witnessed a terrible tragedy. The issue that happened this morning, November 24, started when the children had a dispute among each other with regards to the game. The situation deteriorated when the adults decided to interfere and it soon caused a lot of uproar.
Both the aggrieved parties decided to register a case on one another at the Rajoia Police post. However, things turned ugly there as one party opened fire and the other retaliated. The gun battle led to seven deaths and one was injured. It was surely an unfortunate incident and depicts the state of affairs in the region.
DSP shares details on the incident
“At least seven people were killed and one injured after rival parties exchanged heavy fire at a police post where they had come to register a case against each other following a row between their children during a cricket match in Havelian,” read a report on Pakistan’s Geo News.
Speaking in detail about the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Havelian, Ejaz Khan described the sequence of the events. The incident took place in a village called Ghari Pulgran where children had a quarrel amongst themselves. Soon, the adults convened and that’s where things started to take a violent turn.
He further remarked that one rival had lost four people in the battle while the other lost 3. The police and the locals shifted three dead bodies to the Tehsil Hospital. The other four dead bodies were sent to the district headquarters hospital in Abbottabad for post-mortem.
