Shadab Khan sends a strong warning to England ahead of the limited-overs series

Pakistan have reached England and are currently undergoing a strict quarantine ahead of their limited-overs series against the hosts starting on July 8. Skipper Babar Azam posted an emotional message and thanked fans for their constant support. He also urged the fans in the United Kingdom to support their team and promised that his team will not disappoint their passionate fans.

Now, vice-captain Shadab Khan has backed Azam and feels Pakistan are in the United Kingdom to win. Although Shadab lauded England’s consistency in the white-ball formats, he felt his team also has momentum coming into the tour. The Men in Green recently finished Pakistan Super League (PSL) and before that, they beat Zimbabwe and South Africa in the ODI and T20I series.

While speaking to PCB’s official website, the all-rounder felt the team is in good shape and is ready to take on England. “Surely, England are the ODI world champions, but we come into the series after playing some good cricket against them in the past,” said Shadab. “The passion and love of these guys for the game is evident by the energy they have put in in the practice session today. It is great to be reunited as a team after competing against each other in the successful Pakistan Super League 6.”

Shadab also backed his batters to have a good outing against England. Recently, Fakhar Zaman scored a brilliant 193-the highest score ever in a run-chase against South Africa. Apart from Fakhar, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is in red hot form and has already scored over 1000 runs in a calendar year in T20 cricket. Then there is also reliable Babar Azam and the vice-captain feels these players will come out with brilliant knocks.

“If you look at our squad, Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq have played extraordinary innings in South Africa. Fakhar has scored two centuries in three matches, while Imam scored two half-centuries which show our opening pair is settled in this format,” he said. “Our middle-order is strong too with Babar Azam – who needs no introduction – and Mohammad Rizwan, who is fresh from winning the PSL 6. Haris Sohail is back in the side having scored over 50 runs per innings in the UK.”
