Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 54th birthday on November 2nd, 2019. The richest Indian actor has been inactive on the silver screen after his last release Zero bombed on the box office and the star has been biding his time looking for newer projects. We all know how interested Khan is in cricket, given that he co-owns two T20 franchises.

Shah Rukh Khan, lovingly called SRK, co-owns two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders with fellow actress and friend Juhi Chawla, while also has a stake in Caribbean Premier League franchise Trinbago Knight Riders. In the latest developments in both the franchises, former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum was named coach of both the teams in the respective T20 leagues.

McCullum belatedly wishes SRK on his birthday; Shah Rukh gives an amazing reply

Many would remember that it was for Kolkata Knight Riders that Brendon McCullum lit up the inaugural match of the IPL in 2008 in Bengaluru when he smashed the then-record score of 158* against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He even captained the team in next season in 2009 and though they parted ways after another season, McCullum remained friends with owner Shah Rukh.

After retiring from the game, the former New Zealand captain was chosen by the KKR team management to take over coaching duties of the franchise as they look forward to a new start after not being able to win another title since their 2012 and 2014 wins. Meanwhile, on Monday (November 4), McCullum shared a special birthday post, which said, “A belated Happy Bday wishes to the Boss @iamsrk. ???? Fun, kind, loyal and inspiring! Hope you have a great day and thanks for believing in me always.”

Shah Rukh Khan replied to McCullum with a wordplay on his nickname ‘Baz’ and said, “Thank u Baz’igar!! (You might have to look that one up)”. This was a reference to his 1993 blockbuster movie Baazigar, which had Shah Rukh Khan in an anti-hero role and won him a Best Actor Filmfare award for that year.

It is also important to note here that on his birthday, Shah Rukh Khan’s name lit up the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, which had a birthday greeting for the actor displayed across the 829.8 m tall structure and made SRK the first Indian person to be bestowed with such respect.
