The match:
The Trinbago Knight Riders were brilliant in their bowling department as they restricted the St Lucia Stars to a mere total of 118 runs picking up 9 wickets. West Indian medium pacer Kevon Cooper was terrific with the ball as he grabbed 3 wickets in the match. Coming on to chase the target the Knight Riders found themselves in huge trouble. Shane Shillingford of the St Lucia Stars wrecked havoc in the Knight Riders camp as he rattled the top order. Big names like Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro and skipper Dwayne Bravo also failed to dominate the proceedings. The move of using Sunil Narine as an opener for the pinch hitting purpose which was a massive success in the IPL has not quite worked in the CPL.
45 runs partnership for the 7th wicket as @76Shadabkhan & Javon Searles helps us cruise to our 2nd victory in the @CPL.#TKRvSLS

However, lower order batsmen Shadab Khan and Jevon Searles took the responsibility on their shoulders to put on a healthy partnership. The duo rode the team past the 118 run mark in the 16th over itself and handed the Knight Riders all 2 points from the game. While Shadab remained not out on 30, Searles had 27 runs to his name at the end of the innings.
