There have been many incidents in cricket when players have come face to face against each other either by having a heated argument or by using abusive words. Generally, Virat Kohli, Mitchell Strac, Kieron Pollard, and Ben Stokes are the names that quickly come to mind when we think of such fiery characters.

Apart from that, due to various leagues taking place the players are now not afraid to have a go at their own teammates too. Who can forget the ugly fight between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, or Dwayne Bravo or Kieron Pollard?

There is a new addition in the list as Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sarfaraz Ahmed were involved in an ugly quarrel in the ongoing sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The video went viral and many people slammed Afridi for meting out such treatment to his former Pakistan skipper. Danish Kaneria too was not impressed by this behavior from the left-arm pacer and he was unimpressed by what he saw.

Sarfaraz was hit by a bouncer from Shaheen on his helmet and the two got into an altercation, as the umpires and senior statesman Mohammad Hafeez had to interrupt the ongoing tussle.

“Shaheen Afridi should not have reacted (like that). He misbehaved with his ex-captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. When Shaheen Afridi was playing under Sarfaraz, he had a bowling average of 19. Today, under Babar Azam’s captaincy, his average is 30. If you look at his performance, he has dismissed very few batters from the top 5,” Kaneria said, on his latest YouTube video.

The former leg-spinner further took on Afridi while stating he should have shown this same aggression and intensity when Kane Williamson scored a double-ton on Pakistan’s recent tour to New Zealand.

“Where was his aggression when Williamson scored 200? Sarfaraz was the one who encouraged Shaheen Afridi when he was leading Pakistan. It is so bad to see a youngster misbehaving with a senior player and an ex-captain. Just because Sarfaraz’s stature is not the same in Pakistan cricket now, it doesn’t mean Shaheen Afridi can have a go at a senior like that,” he added.

Kaneria further concluded by saying that both the players should have been given punishment rather than letting them free.
