There has been immense tension in the India-Pakistan relations in the last week or so ever since the Indian Army Headquarter in Uri district of Jammu & Kashmir was attacked by terrorist slipping in from across the border which caused 18 casualties on the Indian side.
In the wake of the attack, the Indian side is constantly trying to build pressure on the other to act against terrorists. India yesterday also made public that they had conducted a surgical strike across the Line of Control and neutralized terrorists based in terror camps in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir region.
It was immediately denied from the other side and the Pakistani defense forces and ministry claimed there was no such attack and that the Indian Army was terming a shelling across the border as a surgical strike.
While this has been widely praised on the Indian side they are also well aware of the repercussions and there have been equal demands for maintaining peace across the border which is in the best interest of both the countries and the region on the whole. Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi was one of those who feels that escalating the situation to a war-like mood isn’t in the best interest of both the nations and that they should try and resolve things with dialogue and maintain peace.

Both India and Pakistan haven’t played any bilateral cricket in recent years since the relations haven’t been at the best and following the Uri attack BCCI President Anurag Thakur said if such a situation persists there is no possibility of any cricket with Pakistan.
