Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has taken the executive decision to call it quits from the international cricketing scene after being privy to a wonderful and long international career for almost two decades. However, the ending might have been marred by a terrible World T20 campaign, something that ensured that he had called it quits from international cricket before once again making a comeback.
However, despite his highly distinguished career that saw him become one of the world’s most experienced batsmen and all-rounders in recent times Afridi has managed to get himself as the brunt of the litter in recent times. This has been due to some of the comments he has made against the Pakistan Cricket Board as well as some of the under-performing players.
Despite this, it would now seem as though Afridi is certainly serious about his retirement decision as well. Speaking about his retirement, Afridi went on to add that he was going on focus on his foundation was something that was going to have the most of his focus at the moment. This was also something that is expected to be the final retirement as far as most are concerned.
“I have said goodbye to international cricket,” said Shahid Afridi. “I am playing for my fans and will continue to play in this league for another two years, but it’s goodbye from international cricket,” Afridi said. “Now my foundation is important for me. I have played with seriousness and in a professional way for my country.”
