The tension in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir is heating up in the recent times. The clashes between the militants, the extremists, and the Indian army has also resulted in the casualties of the common citizens. Recently, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi voiced his concerns about the ongoing violence in Kashmir.
It is a very well known fact that Kashmir has been a topic of discussion and debate for the two countries – India and Pakistan. The political tensions has also seen the sporting ties between the two nations getting severed. In a recent update, a case of stone pelting and civil violence in the state saw over 50 people injured.
Absolutely miffed by this, Shahid Afridi took to micro blogging site Twitter to vent out his anger on the issue. He questioned the UN for not taking any actions against India despite such violence being committed against the civilians. It is worth noting that the civilians have been attacking the army officers too.
In fact, Afridi went on to quote the cities like Srinagar and the adjoining places as ‘India occupied Kashmir’. Certainly, the former cricketer is not aware of the fact the terrorism in the state is funded by Pakistani extremists. Well, it is worth noting that Afridi was earlier praised by the Indian fans when he had shown respect towards the Indian flag.
Here is what Shahid Afridi tweeted:
“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?”

The Indian fans were absolutely unhappy with the way Shahid Afridi showed his stance in the case. They looked visibly irked in their responses to the tweet. Many suggested the former Pakistani skipper to stay in his own businesses. Also, some suggested him to get his research and facts right before commenting anything against India and the Indian army.
Here is how the fans reacted to the tweet:
Being a respected man and cricketer you should not be too much indulged in political situation of other countries and focus on wellbeing of Pakistan!!!

How ignorant can you get Mr Afridi? There's nothing called Indian Occupied Kashmir. Kashmir is a part of India. Kashmir has always foiled Pakistan's suicidal attempts to create trouble. Do some reading before making a fool of yourself. https://t.co/LoOqHdR2Qg
