Pakistan cricket icon Shahid Afridi might play for the Quetta Gladiators side in the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Nadeem Omar, who is the owner of the Quetta Gladiators had confirmed the same.
In June 2021, Afridi had himself stated that he would like to be a part of the Quetta Gladiators franchise in his last PSL season in 2022. And, this news was even confirmed by Azam Khan, who is the manager of the Quetta Gladiators side.
“If the franchise [Multan Sultans] releases me, I will prefer to represent the Quetta Gladiators in my last season,” Afridi had said in an interview. You can also see a tweet about Shahid Afridi playing for the Quetta Gladiators below.

PSL player draft to be held in the 2nd week of December
The player draft for the 2022 season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place in the second week of December. But then, the manager of the Multan Sultans and COO, Haider Azhar has revealed that Afridi being released by the franchise has not been confirmed as of now.
Shahid Afridi is a legend of Pakistan cricket, and his international career lasted for over 2 decades. The 41-year-old represented the Pakistan side in 27 Tests, 398 ODIs, and 99 T20Is. The right arm leg spinner is the highest wicket-taker for the ‘Men in Green’ in T20I cricket.
Afridi scalped 97 wickets in his T20I career and took his wickets at an average of 24.35 and a strike rate of 22.10. The cricket legend is also the 3rd highest wicket-taker for the Pakistan side in ODIs and has scalped a staggering 393 wickets.
Apart from that, Afridi has also scored 1716 runs in Test cricket while he amassed 8064 runs in the ODI format of the game. In T20I cricket, the right-handed batsman scored 1416 runs at an excellent strike rate of 150. Afridi has played 50 matches in the PSL and has scalped 44 wickets. With the bat, Afridi has plundered 465 runs in his PSL career.
