Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi recently interacted with his millions of fans on Twitter. One of the most popular cricketers in the world and definitely the most popular in Pakistan, Afridi held a question-answer session on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, a huge numbers of fans took part in the fun session and asked the all-rounder a number of questions.

The fans asked different sort of questions ranging from what would he like to do after he finally gives up cricket if he has any interest in politics and other topics. One of the question was related to football. One fan asked the legendary cricketer to name his favourite footballer. In reply, Shahid Afridi came up with not one but two names.

He came up with very expected names naming Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as his favourites. Ronaldo and Messi are undoubtedly two of the greatest footballers of this generation and are well ahead of the rest. Both the players have won the Ballon d’or five number of times and are showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.

Recently, the two made it to the shortlist of the UEFA Player of the Year and are looking good to achieve more accolades in their already illustrious career. No surprises then that Afridi named Portugal and the Argentina star as his favourite footballers.

Afridi accuses IPL of pressurising Sri Lankan players:

Recently, Shahid Afridi made a bizarre statement after ten Sri Lankan players pulled out of the tour of Pakistan due to security reasons. Pakistan are set to host the Islanders for three ODIs and as many T20Is. However, the series has already lost some of its biggest attractions due to the Sri Lankan players’ decision.

Almost all the big names from Sri Lanka have pulled out of the tour including Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne, Thisara Perera and others. And days after the development, Afridi said that the players pulled out of the tour due to the pressure from the IPL teams.

“Sri Lankan players are under pressure from IPL franchises. I spoke to Sri Lanka players last time when there was talk of them coming to Pakistan and playing in PSL. They said they wanted to come, but IPL guys say if you go to Pakistan we won’t give you a contract,” senior Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq on Twitter quoted Afridi as saying.
