Shakib Al Hasan loses his temper after appeal is turned down by the umpire
He has been handed a 50 per cent fine on his match fees for his actions.
Veteran Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is having a merry time in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He is leading the Dhaka Dynamites in the competition this year. Recently, he bagged a five wicket haul against the Rangpur Riders in the 24th match of the competition. With the effort, he now has joined the elite list of bowlers with 3 or more five-wicket hauls in the shortest format of the game.
Only Lasith Malinga (4) has more five-wicket hauls than him at the moment in the T20 cricket. While all of this is a good news for Shakib Al Hasan and his fans, the antics that he had shown in the previous game has landed him in trouble. During the match against the Comilla Victorians, Shakib was seen using foul language after the on field umpires turned down his appeal for an lbw in the match.
The action perspired in the 9th over of the Comilla Victorians innings. Imrul Kayes was the batsman on strike as Shakib came in to bowl. Shakib managed to hit the pads of Kayes and erupted in his appeal for the lbw. He felt that he had his man on the day.
However, the umpire looked unfazed by the appeal and turned it down. Shakib Al Hasan was seen extremely animated as he used a few cuss words. The umpire also gestured him to calm down but there was nothing stopping Shakib from expressing his anger.
Well, the actions have now put Shakib under some problematic waters. He has been handed a 50 per cent fine on his match fees for his actions. He is found guilty of breaching the level 2 offence of the BCB Code of Conduct. Along with Shakib, Comilla Victorians bowler Hasan Ali was also fined in the same match for his gestures shown to the Dhaka Dynamites batsman Mosaddek Saikat.
