There is a major oozing trend going in the cricketing world in which many of the players have clean shaved their beard in order to support a new rejuvenated look. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who is playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also taken up the ‘Break the Beard’ challenge. He posted an elating video on his Instagram account in which the SRH all-rounder was supporting a clean shaved look.
Why should batsmen have all the fun
The clean shaved trendy look seems to be picking in an anticipatory fashion in the Sunrisers dressing room. Earlier the SRH batsmen, Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey had first clean-shaven their beards to support the unique challenge. While Shakib noted in his post that it is the time for the all-rounders to show off their all-round style too. At the end of the video, the all-rounder showed his new clean shaved look by performing the iconic’dab’.
SRH bowlers losing the plot in the final stages of the league phase
The Sunrisers bowling unit has been performing remarkably well in the ongoing season and both the spinners and fast bowlers have contributed in guiding the team towards the top of the points tally. In their last 2 games against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the SRH bowlers were taken to cleaners by the opposition batsmen and as a result, the Sunrisers lost both their last 2 games.
It is a fact that SRH has arguably been the best bowling side of the tournament, however, it is also a notable factor that 3 out of the 4 hundreds scored this season have been scored against them.
In their previous game against RCB, fast bowler Basil Thampi registered the most expensive figures by a bowler in an innings in the history of the tournament, as he conceded 70 runs in his four overs spell. SRH have already qualified for the playoffs and will definitely be finishing as one of the top two teams, which gives them an added advantage in the final stages.
Later today, Sunrisers will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their final match of the league stages, where KKR will certainly be looking to seal their spot in the final four teams.
