Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at Australia’s star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who allegedly accused Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain of chucking during a group stage match of The Hundred competition played between Oval Invincibles and the Southern Brave recently.

The right-handed batter who batted well for his 37 runs off 27 balls tried to take on Hasnain’s mean bouncer but Stoinis was done for pace as he gave a simple catch to the fielder stationed at the mid-off region. As Stoinis was returning to the pavilion, he was seen imitating Hasnain’s action and suggested that the Pakistani pacer was chucking.

No player should be allowed to do such things if someone’s been cleared already: Akhtar wrote on Twitter

“Shameful gesture by @MStoinis regarding bowling action of @MHasnainPak during #TheHundred2022. How dare you do such things?? Ofcourse @ICC stays quiet about them. No player should be allowed to do such things if someone’s been cleared already,” tweeted Akhtar on Tuesday (August 16).

It must be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on June 9 announced that the express pacer’s bowling action has been cleared by the International Cricket Board (ICC) bowling rules and regulations. ICC after a reassessment found that Hasnain’s elbow extension is within the 15-degree level of tolerance and the speedster can participate and bowl in all forms of cricket including international and domestic cricket around the world.

Talking about Hasnain’s numbers in the international arena, the right-arm pacer has played a total of eight ODIs for Pakistan and has taken 12 wickets at an average of 37.91. He also has a five-wicket haul in the 50-over format. In T20Is, he has represented his country in 18 encounters and has scalped 17 wickets at an average of 30.70. Hasnain is yet to represent Pakistan in the longest format of the game.

The right-arm pacer has impressed everyone after returning to competitive cricket and he will want to continue his good performance ahead as well and look to make a comeback to the national team soon.
