Shaminda Eranga hospitalized with heart ailment

Sri Lankan fast bowler Shaminda Eranga has been hospitalized with a heart ailment in England, Sri Lanka Cricket sources said in Colombo on Sunday. The ODI series against England is about to commence in two days time and his absence will be a huge blow for the Lankans, who already missed Dhammika Prasad and Dushmantha Chameera earlier in the Test series.
Eranga had been called for a suspect action during the second Test at Chester le street, who was about to face a bowling Test at the Loughborough University on Monday.
There was a danger of him being asked to be sidelined in the event of him proving to bend his arm more than the allowed 15 degrees, SLC sources said.
Sri Lanka after losing the Test series against England had thrashed Ireland by 136 runs in the second ODI at Dublin to clinch the two-match series 2-0. Despite losing the Test series, the ODI series win has brought some confidence in the Sri Lankan camp which is about to start their ODI series against England in two days time.

After the retirement of the big names such as Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, Sri Lanka is going through a tough patch. They were unable to put some fight in the Asia Cup earlier this year. They were also eliminated in the group stages of the World T20 2016. But they will be coming into the ODI series with some confidence, with the kind of resistance they showed in the 3rd Test at Lord’s and with the trashing win over Ireland.
