Shane Warne passed away on March 4 in his villa in Thailand aged 52. Warne’s untimely demise shocked the entire world, all the fans as well as the members of the cricketing fraternity as they came forward to offer their last respects to the legendary cricketer. The cause of his death is believed to be a heart attack as he was found unresponsive in a Samunjana resort villa.
Three days after the spin legend’s demise, a woman has grabbed headlines for getting into the ambulance. In fact, the Thai police are also investigating the matter after the person, who reportedly is a huge fan of Shane Warne, was allowed into the ambulance that was carrying his body for autopsy.
Woman allowed in an ambulance carrying Shane Warne’s body
According to reports in news.com.au, there was a potential security breach involving Warne’s body, and footage showed that a German woman had entered inside the ambulance and spent 40 seconds alone in the van. She was also carrying a bunch of flowers. The person’s act also raised a lot of questions as to why neither the local nor the Australian police officials were there near the ambulance that was parked on the ferry.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the Thai police have questioned the German woman, who lives on Koh Samui and is reportedly a fan of Warne who wanted to pay him last respects. At the same time, the report also states that the Thai authorities were told the woman knew Warne personally, and thus, they provided her access to offer her last respects to the deceased leg-spinner.
In the footage that has been shared, the German woman is spotted interacting with the local immigration officials. A Thai woman can also be seen with her, and is heard speaking in both English and local language.
“Yeah, yeah she knows him”, the woman said in English.
“Thank you very much, she’s a friend”, she said in Thai.
Recently, when Warne’s body was prepared for autopsy, the local police confirmed that there was no foul play suspected in his death. The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also announced that Shane Warne will receive a state funeral.
