Shane Warne heaps praises on India winning the Test mace
The Kangaroo took to Twitter and congratulated Virat Kohli and his troops for their victorious campaign.
The Indian team has been exceptional in the limited overs fixtures against South Africa. After steamrolling the hosts in the ODI series, the Men in Blue registered their maiden T20I series victory against the might of the Proteas. The series panned out to be a closely-fought affair as both teams telecasted exemplary cricket at Johannesburg, Centurion and Cape Town.
India clinched the opening game at the Wanderers courtesy Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s masterclass with the leather. South Africa rose to the occasion and drew level at the SuperSport Part riding on Heinrich Klaasen’s belligerent stroke-play. The final game of the series turned out to be a cliffhanger as the teams fought tooth and nail to emerge victorious.
The humdinger
India smashed their way to 172 runs after Suresh Raina’s swashbuckling knock and Shikhar Dhawan’s scratchy yet useful stint at the wicket. The Indian pacers churned out impeccable channels and restricted the Proteas. Jean-Paul Duminy and Christian Jonker tried their hearts out, however, couldn’t fetch a series victory for the hosts.
After India’s victory, congratulatory message flowed from several former cricketers and other eminent personalities. Shane Warne, the former Australian and the legendary leg-spinner, also showered accolades for their stupendous run in their recently concluded tour of the Rainbow nation. The Kangaroo took to Twitter and congratulated Virat Kohli and his troops for their victorious campaign.
