Shane Warne heaps praises for young Kuldeep Yadav
Was a pleasure to meet young Kuldeep: Shane Warne
The name of a young Chinaman bowler from Uttar Pradesh by the name of Kuldeep Yadav did rounds in the domestic circuit for many years now. It was in the IPL where the left arm wrist spinner gained recognition and made quite a buzz around himself.
There have been several occasions over the years where young promising talents could not transcend their potential to the other side of the International level barrier and eventually faded away over the course of time, toiling away in the domestic circuit.
But these axioms does not apply to rare talents like Kuldeep Yadav who has grown leaps and bounds since making his debut against Australia back in March 2017 in the 4th Test held at Dharmasala. Even after being provided with limited opportunities in all formats of the game, he has still managed to come up with impactful performances.
Legends from all across the world have acknowledged the talent and one of them is the spin wizard himself, Shane Warne. He recently took to Twitter to express his pleasure to meet the fellow leg-spinner. “Was a pleasure to meet young Kuldeep when I was last in India. I really enjoy watching him bowl & cause confusion, even against Oz #INDvAUS,” tweeted Shane Warne during the 5th ODI at Nagpur.
Kuldeep was instrumental in making his team make a comeback in the very first Test match he played by clinching a four-wicket haul. With impressive performances against Sri Lanka and West Indies, he booked a berth in the Indian side against Australia, ahead of the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin who were the seasoned campaigners across all format of the game for India.
However, the watershed moment in his brief career came in the 2nd ODI at Kolkata, his adopted home-ground when he plays for the Knight Riders, where he picked up a hat-trick by clinching the wickets of Wade, Agar and Cummins. He now is only the third Indian bowler to achieve the feat.
