Royals have returned to the IPL fray this year after serving a two-year ban due to their alleged involvement in the spot-fixing saga in 2013. They’ve appointed Steve Smith as a captain for the upcoming season and the likes of Ben Stokes and Ajinkya Rahane are also up their sleeves. After the auction, the team looks solid at least on paper as they’ve shelled out a lot of money for few players also investing in some of the local talent this time around.
