Shaun Pollock suffers an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction in Centurion

South Africa had every reason to cheer today as they managed to humble Pakistan by six wickets at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Moreover, Faf du Plessis and Co took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The Proteas were needed to chase down 149 runs and they achieved the modest target in the 51st over during the post-lunch session of the third day’s play.
During the lunch break, a hilarious incident occurred in the middle, involving former South African speedster Shaun Pollock, currently the nation’s second highest Test wicket-taker (421) after Dale Steyn overhauled his tally with Fakhar Zaman’s wicket in the first innings. During the run-chase, Dean Elgar was caught at first slip by Azhar Ali off pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

However, the on-field umpires decided to send the decision upstairs to the third umpire, soft-signalling it as out. Nevertheless, the third umpire reckoned the catch wasn’t clean and therefore adjudged 31-year-old Elgar not out. The left-handed batter went on to score 50 runs from 123 balls with 10 boundaries and was eventually nipped out by part-timer Shan Masood.
Pollock and fellow commentator Graeme Smith enacted the entire dismissal during the lunch break, mentioning how it’s difficult to take low catches. In the meantime, even as Pollock tried to take a catch, he split the back of his trousers.
While Pollock was a tad embarrassed, it added some humour as Smith also broke into laughter. SuperSport uploaded the video in their official Twitter handle. Moreover, they captioned it and wrote, “It’s been all about split decisions at SuperSport park today,”

Pollock also posted a tweet, showing the condition of his torn pants. Captioning the pictures and wrote, “Thanks to the Proteas change room for the replacement pants , no more slip catching displays in suit pants!!,”
