The last few days have presented the world with loads of turbulence. The coronavirus outbreak has sent the entire globe into a lockdown and it’s tough to see light at the end of the tunnel. People are being quarantined as a precautionary measure to counter the COVID-19. In excess of 1.5 lakh cases have been reported thus far with the death tolls going up at the rate of knots.

The pandemic has also taken a toll on the cricket world. No live games are currently underway with tournaments either getting postponed or cancelled. To make things worse, it’s not yet known when things will be going back to normalcy. Countries like Iran, Italy and China have had to face the wrath of the virus. Even in India, Maharashtra and Kerala have had to bear its brunt.

Stokes and Dhawan working hard

In the meantime, while there’s no cricket, the cricketers have put themselves in self-isolation. However, even as they are spending time away from the game, their zeal and motivation to work hard haven’t died down by any stretch of the imagination.

The likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Ben Stokes posted videos where they can be seen training. The left-handed Dhawan posted a clip on Instagram where he can be seen flexing his muscles with the help of a tree on his backyard.

Dhawan captioned the video and wrote, “There is always an opportunity to do something productive and be safe at the same time. Feels great to be in the nature right now and enjoying my workout as well. Stay Strong everyone,”

Stokes, the talented England all-rounder, was also seen training indoors. He was seen honing his skills in some backyard golf. Stokes captioned the video and wrote, “Athletics coach yesterday Golf coach today,” Stokes was set to be a part of the Three Lions’ Test series against Sri Lanka, but it was cancelled.

A few cricketers also took to their social media handle to make people aware of the coronavirus and how to evade the wrath of the pandemic. Rohit Sharma, in a video, said, “I just wanted to talk about a few things. The last few weeks have been tough times for all of us. The world has come to a standstill which is very very sad to see. The only way we can get back to normal is by all of us coming together.”
