Shikhar Dhawan asks people to spot something Harbhajan Singh highlights his 'Tind'
Dhawan returned back to form in the 4th ODI against Australia and the team will want him to get them over the line in the final game.
Shikhar Dhawan finally returned to form during the fourth ODI against Australia in Mohali. The India opener scored his 16th ODI ton and third against Australia to give India a perfect start in the crucial clash. He was eventually out for a brilliant 143 off 115 balls. His knock was studded with 18 boundaries and three sixes. His huge 193-run stand with fellow opener Rohit Sharma laid the foundation for the big total of 358 for 9. However, Dhawan’s efforts went in vain as Australia pulled off a sensational run chase to stun the hosts.
But keeping aside the result, Dhawan’s return to form ahead of the World Cup would have made the team-management take a big sigh of relief. Prior to the Mohali knock, Dhawan had managed only two fifty-plus scores, six single-digits and two ducks in the last 17 innings. In 2019, Dhawan managed to score just 265 runs at an abysmal average of 26.50 in 11 innings. Even in the first three games of the ongoing series, he failed to deliver before hitting the sizzling ton in the fourth ODI.
And ahead of the series decider, the opener looks in high spirits. On Tuesday, he took to Instagram to post a selfie, asking his fans to identify his teammates who were sitting behind him. He, however, ended up getting trolled by his former India teammate Harbhajan Singh.
“Piche kaun kaun baitha hai? Can you spot some familiar faces?,” wrote Shikhar Dhawan.
Sensing an opportunity to have a laugh at the expense of Dhawan, Harbhajan replied: “Tind Chamak rahi hai teri Gabbar” thus taking a hilarious dig at Dhawan’s bald look.
Gabbar also replied and said: “Jatt shuru toh hi poora lishakda rhya pajhi”
Dhawan eyes impressive show at home:
With form on his side, Dhawan will be looking to make the most of it in the fifth and final ODI against Australia which will decided the outcome of the series. India are on the verge of losing their first ODI series at home since 2015 and will be desperately hoping to see Dhawan fire once again at the top.
Meanwhile, India will take confidence from their track record at Kotla. They have played four ODIs against Australia in the national capital and have won three of them.
