Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who grabbed the Man of the Match Trophy in the first Test against Sri Lanka, came up with a beautiful tweet today. No, the tweet is not about cricket, but it will make you respect the cricketer more.

Dhawan took to his official Twitter account and posted a picture of two Indian army officers. In the picture we can see one of the officers who is a Muslim, performing his Namaz or offering his prayer to the almighty. While he performs the ritual we can see the other officer who is a non-Muslim, guarding his colleague. The cricketer took the opportunity to share this wonderful picture which shows that humanity has no religion.

Dhawan captioned the picture with a beautiful message that love and care come before religion. He also stated that there is a lot to learn from the picture as this is what we call a true tea, His tweet read “Having each other’s back at all times, proud to be an Indian. Love and care comes before religion. That’s what we call a team”.

The match:

Shikhar Dhawan was awarded the Man of the Match award in the first test of the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. Dhawan re-discovered himself as a Test player in the match by playing a trailblazing knock of 190 runs in the first inning. His gigantic knock helped India to put up a staggering total of 600 runs on the board. He was well supported by Cheteshwar Pujara who also played a gutsy and composed inning of 153 runs.

However, Dhawan was dropped by Asela Gunaratne when he was batting on 31. Gunaratne not only dropped the catch but also fractured his thumb which saw him ruled out of the series. The Sri Lankans were no match to the Indians in all three departments of the game as the fell on the wrong side of a thumping defeat on home soil.
