The Indian team has reached Melbourne for the second T20I scheduled on Friday and the visitors have to win this encounter to stay alive in the three-game series. India lost the first match in Brisbane by just four runs in the Duckworth-Lewis Stern Method after rain interrupted it. Opener Shikhar Dhawan’s magnificent innings of 76 off 42 balls and a late innings surge by Dinesh Karthik (30) and Rishabh Pant (20) failed to see their team reach home.

The Indians, however, were in a pleasant mood ahead of the second T20I. Ahead of the team’s departure for Melbourne, Dhawan posted a selfie with mates like Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Khaleel Ahmed and captioned it: “A team that has chai together, stays together 😉 Chai-time chilling with the boys! #IndvsAus” Dhawan was seen wearing a pair of oval dark glasses in the picture.

Dhawan’s Instagram post:

Aliyah and Ayesha mock his style

The cricketer’s daughter Aliyah saw the picture and couldn’t stop herself from making a sarcastic remark. She commented: “Ur glasses look great.” To this, Dhawan’s wife Ayesha intervened and was rather surprised with her praising the glasses Gabbar was wearing and replied asking her if she was “kidding”.

Aliyah who also despised the glasses as much as her mother replied that she was “being sarcastic”. The fans also enjoyed the family conversation in the post’s thread.

Dhawan, who bettered captain Virat Kohli’s record of scoring most runs in the T20Is in a calendar year in the game at the Gabba, had hit his form towards the end of the Windies series at home. He scored 43 and 92 in the final two games in Lucknow and Chennai followed by the 76 in Australia and the team will be looking for more from him if they fancy their chances in the remaining series.

Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma failed in the opening game, managing just four and seven, which made it easier for the Australians to dominate the game. India ended with 169 for 7 chasing a target of 174 with spinner Adam Zampa picking up two vital wickets to be adjudged as the man of the match.
